Certified Picture Framer

Hi, I'm Janet and I love my
job!
I started framing in Dallas
in 1984 quite accidentally but took to it immediately. I
became manager after one year and worked at that shop for a total of
6 years. When I moved back to Wisconsin, I found work at a
wholesale frame shop in Brookfield where I also worked for 6 years.
In 1991 I earned a professional certification for picture framing
from the Professional Picture Framer's Association. Wanting a
shorter commute, I began working for Bonnie's Art & Framing located
in West Bend in 1996. The business was sold in 2006 but I
continued my employment with the new owners. In February of
2007, the name was changed to Legacy Photo & Frame to coincide with
the new direction of the business. During the transition
period, the framing segment was moved to the front of the store and
a photography studio was built in the back. We cataloged our
framing inventory of over 2000 mouldings and now offer only
conservation grade matboard and the finest glass available.
The photography business has
added a new dimension to my framing work which I thoroughly enjoy.
I can't decide if I like design work or hand framing work better so
suffice to say, I love it all. If I had to choose some
favorites, I'd say that I enjoy designing and making shadow box
projects along with framing old photographs.
I also enjoy going to
customer's homes for design consultation which we provide at no
charge. Please stop in the store to say hello and to discuss
your framing project with me.
